BALLYMONEY'S Black Santa Liam Beckett started his annual pre Christmas charity sit out last Saturday, this year supported by the local Rotary.
Ballymoney Rotary members will join Liam during his sit out with all money raised from their "Tree of Remembrance" project going to his five charities.
These are as usual, the Salvation Army, St Vincent de Paul, Drop Inn Ministries, Compass Advocacy and the Samaritans.
Black Santa Liam said: "The "Tree of Remembrance" is a fantastic project and I am delighted that Ballymoney Rotary will be joining me in my sit out this Christmas.
“Rotary do a lot for the community and sometimes I think they don't get the recognition they deserve for the charitable work they do. I applaud this years initiative to support me and my five charities and hopefully the public will see them and give them the credit they deserve."
Rotary Club of Ballymoney President Richard Orr said "We are delighted to give members of the public the opportunity to remember their loved ones who cannot be with them at this time of the year. I feel that this will be one of the most positive projects of the year. This is Black Santa's eleventh year and it's great to be able to join Liam in his sit out for our local charities."
TREE of REMEMBRANCE
The "Rotary Tree of Remembrance" is the Club's flagship project for Christmas and will run for a week after the the official launch this Saturday December 17 at 3pm.
