Ballymoney Foodbank continues to help the community thumbnailMarking their third year Ballymoney Foodbank is needed as never before and pictured are volunteers Shirley McNeilly, Kieran Minto with Walter McCallum.

BALLYMONEY Foodbank opened three years ago, in early 2014, first at Silversprings and now at Unit 10, 4 Ballymena Road. Since opening, they have managed to provide emergency food and aid to over 2200 people in the local area, including over 700 children, and aim to continue to increase that figure in the coming months and years.
The Foodbank operate a volunteer system and currently have 38 volunteer holders in the Ballymoney area including many churches, schools, CAP, CAB, SUDP, the British Legion and Triangle Housing, to name a few.
If one of these volunteers comes across an individual struggling to feed themselves, for whatever reason, then the Foodbank will provide them with 3/4 days of emergency food, which is healthy and nutritionally balanced, as well as a variety of basic toiletries.
