Thursday, 9 March 2017
FOLLOWING a two week lay-off, Ballymoney First XV returned to action on Saturday with Holywood the visitors to a damp Kilraughts Road.
With fellow title challengers PSNI not in action at the weekend it was a chance for Ballymoney to return to the top of the league.
Props Matty Blair and Peter Irvine made their return to the team after injury, and with Michael Allan moving to second row, Jordan Munnis started at number eight with skipper McFetridge moving to the number six position. Andy Young, meanwhile, returned at outhalf with James Clelland moving to fullback meaning Jack Doey took his place on the bench.
With Coaches Hanna and Clelland stressing the importance of starting the game with a high intensity, Ballymoney set straight to work with the pack driving hard and deep into the Holywood 22.
