Double road works whammy thumbnailLaying electric cables on the Tullaghans Rd.

RESIDENTS on the Finvoy and adjacent roads being "highly inconvenienced" by two separate sets of road works related to the laying of electric cables have been reassured that the work is to be finished soon.
NIE, currently delivering high voltage underground electricity cabling related to the new Loughguile windfarm on the Finvoy and Tullaghans Roads, have confirmed the work will be completed by Friday.
While Transport NI have said that work for Rasharkin Solar Farm being delivered by Rasharkin Solar PV will be finished by the end of the month.
Local farmer Mr Horace Stronge approached The Chronicle with his concerns saying: "The community is highly inconvenienced and completely fed up with these road works that have been going on since last May. Transport NI is not keeping an eye on the contractors." he claimed, "They block the road and you sit for 20 minutes and instead of concentrating their efforts on one place they are trying to do two or three places at the same time. Then there's all the diversions, a nurse coming to take care of my wife had to drive 55 extra miles on her rounds."
