A PROPOSAL by Transport NI to relax traffic waiting restrictions on North Road outside the Model PS has been welcomed by a local councillor.
However a former chair of Ballymoney Road Safety Committee (BRSC) has said the change will make no difference to congestion at school dropping of and picking up times on the road and called for greater enforcement.
TransportNI hopes to relax the restrictions in the area with 'School Keep Clear' markings outside the Model PS currently running from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, from 31 August to 30 June to only prohibit waiting from 8.15am to 9.30am and from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.
DUP Alderman, John Finlay welcomed the easing of restrictions on the road, believing it will improve ease of access for everyone who uses the road on a daily basis.
