Wheels of change ‘grinding slowly’ thumbnail

UUP Cllr Joan Baird has said the wheels are "grinding slowly" in relation to plans to facilitate road safety and traffic measures at the Dark Hedges.
In recent months Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council (CC&G) requested the Department for Infrastructure (DfI) take forward a proposal to make an Order, The Control of Traffic (The Dark Hedges) Order to help facilitate a package of measures to better manage and control the site at The Dark Hedges.
The Cllr, who has been supportive of plans mooted both in Moyle legacy council and the current CC&G said she has had several local residents approach her about the delay in matters.
She added: "Transport NI (which falls under the Department of Infrastructure) are concerned about road safety and car parking it seems. I drove down that road only a few days ago, so after the Easter holidays, and the road verges are awfully muddy and look terrible.
