A YOUNG Ballymoney pupil has spoken of her delight at receiving a letter from The Queen's Lady in Waiting passing on Her Majesty's compliments about a poem she had written.
Kilmoyle PS pupil Belle Wysner wrote her poem to the Queen: "The Queen and the schools" and sent it off to Buckingham Palace at the beginning of April.
The poem describes, how during a visit to the north coast, The Queen tries out the fantastic ice creams in Portrush before getting her wellies on and popping into Kilmoyle school to "play and laugh the hours away" with pupils.
To Belle's delight The Queen's Lady in Waiting, the Hon Mrs Whitehead wrote back saying how she had "greatly appreciated" this "splendid poem."
Ten year old Belle told the Chronicle: "I wrote the poem and sent it at the beginning of April. It's a humorous poem about The Queen coming to Northern Ireland and visiting us at school and really enjoying herself.
