Loughgiel get ‘perfect score’ thumbnail

A GROUP of Irish dancers from Loughgiel have made history at an international music festival by becoming the first troupe ever to be awarded a perfect score.
Loughgiel School of Irish Dancing were awarded 100/100 in the Open Floor Dance competition in Llangollen, Wales, the first time any group has received a "perfect score" in achieving full marks in the 70 year history of the infamous International Eisteddfod competition.
Speaking to the Chronicle, dance teacher Denise Dobbin spoke of her delight at seeing Loughgiel School of Irish Dancing achieve their amazing score.
“Prior to competing in Wales, we had just finished performing a three night sell out show in both the Braid Arts Centre and the Mac Theatre in Belfast, so to say we have been working seven nights per week is an understatement!
