THE WEEKEND paint bomb attack on an Orange Hall near Cloughmills has been roundly condemned by politicians from across the community.
Police are describing the incident which occurred at Rosedernat Hall on Lislaban Road between 11.30pm last Saturday night and 11.30am on Sunday morning, as a hate crime.
Cloughmills DUP Alderman John Finlay condemned the attack "unreservedly" while Sinn Fein MLA Philip McGuigan said it "needed to be condemned by us all."
This incident makes a total of eight reported attacks on Orange property so far this year.
Ald Finlay said: "Orange Halls need to be left alone. They don't do anyone any harm and there appears to have been a rise in attacks to the Protestant community heading up to and during the Twelfth of July celebrations.
