IMAGES displaying Northern Irish landmarks such as The Dark hedges and The Giant's Causeway are to be displayed at Heathrow Airport, promoting our spectacular scenery to over 12m tourists.
The Dark Hedges, one of Co Antrim's most popular tourist attraction is an avenue of beech trees along Bregagh Road between Armoy and Stranocum and has been used as a location in HBO's popular television series Game of Thrones, resulting in the avenue becoming a tourist attraction.
The Dark Hedges were used as a filming location for the "King's Road" in Game of Thrones. The trees have also been used in the Transformers film The Last Knight, which was released back in June.
According to legend, the hedges are visited by a ghost called the Grey Lady, who travels the road and flits across it from tree to tree. She is claimed to be either the spirit of James Stuart's daughter (named "Cross Peggy") or one of the house's maids who died mysteriously.
The Giant's Causeway is another very popular tourist attraction which consists of about 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, the result of an ancient volcanic eruption.
