THE TRAFFIC ban at the iconic Dark Hedges made famous by TV fantasy drama Game of Thrones commenced yesterday (Monday October 30).
However, the ban does not seem to be quite in action after a local photographer captured images of cars and a motorbike driving along the Dark Hedges avenue on the first day the ban was meant to kick in.
The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) issued an order at the beginning of the month banning all traffic except emergency vehicles and those accessing land along that stretch of the Bregagh Road.
The atmospheric tunnel of beech trees near Armoy, has attracted thousands of visitors to the site ever since featuring in the hit HBO television series Game of Thrones.
However thanks to the high volume of tourists flocking to the site, the road has become seriously damaged due to cars and buses.
