A WHEELIE bin cleaner, who threatened to put a bullet in a business rival's head, was spared a jail sentence yesterday (Monday).
North Antrim Magistrates, sitting in Coleraine, heard how William Gamble had repeatedly threatened another bin cleaner during his rounds in the town and surrounding area.
Gamble, 54, from Garryduff Road, Ballymoney, pleaded guilty to attempting to intimidate the other man from approaching potential customers for his bin cleaning services between May 10 and June 8 last year.
The prosecutor told the court how Gamble had threatened to "tramp the other man into the ground" at Mountsandel Road, Coleraine, on May 11 last year.
The 35-minute incident, which left his victim "shaken up," who filmed by phone mobile. On another occasion, over the phone, Gamble said: "I'm not a boy to fall out with; stay on the right side of me."
