THE St Vincent de Paul (SVDP)/Salvation Army joint Christmas Appeal has benefited from the generosity of two local organisations wishing to give something back to the community at this time of year.
On behalf of the appeal Mr Paul McCusker of Ballymoney SVDP has thanked Triangle Housing Association and R&F Mechanical Services Seymour Street for their donation of shoe boxes and a cheque respectively.
Triangle Housing Association staff and service users at 2 Garryduff Road gave a shoe box for each of the 40 years their organisation has been going.
Registered Manager at the facility, Orlagh McGivern said: "Triange Housing is celebrating 40 years and part of those anniversary celebrations is the theme of giving back to the community.
“We as staff and service users wanted to give something back so we decided to fill 40 shoe boxes. Everyone took one or two shoe boxes and bought stuff ourselves to fill them and then we brought them in and wrapped them."
“We had contacted a number of charities and the St Vincent de Paul/Salvation Army Christmas Appeal got back and we were able to take things forward."
