AN alcohol-fuelled care worker, who assaulted a "vulnerable" resident at supported accommodation in Ballymoney, was given a two-year conditional discharge yesterday (Monday).
North Antrim Magistrates, sitting in Coleraine, heard how Caroline McMullan, from Ramoan Court, Ballycastle, had struck her victim three times on the thigh with the back of her hand and kicked a police officer called to deal with the incident.
McMullan, 52, pleaded guilty to common assault of a female and assaulting a police officer on November 19 this year.
The court was told how another member of staff at the housing association property had alerted police at around 6.15pm.
