BALLYMONEY safely progressed to the next round of the River Rock Towns' Cup with a convincing victory over Larne.
The home team had several changes from the previous week's game against Banbridge with Daniel Ramage returning while Michael Allan moved to the number six role. Skipper John McFetridge was selected from the list of replacements.
In the backs, Matthew Steele returned with Andy Young starting on the wing and Aaron Brown replacing the injured Thomas Hunter at centre. The two sides had previously met in league action back in September and in a high scoring game Ballymoney held on to record the win despite a late fight back from Larne.
Ballymoney kicked-off with Larne determined to test the host's defence right from the off. They were soon to take the lead when the referee penalised Ballymoney for going off their feet at a ruck leaving the Larne kicker with the easy job of picking up the first few points from just outside the '22'.
