A LUNCHEON was held welcoming in the new the new High Sheriff of County Antrim, Gillian Bingham, a post that runs from January 1 to December 31, 2018.
The luncheon was held on Monday January 15, in the Templeton Hotel, Templepatrick, which saw the signing of the Declaration of High Sheriff and the stating of her objectives during her year in office.
The official ceremony, to sign the "Declaration of Sheriff", was witnessed by Mrs Sue Pinkerton, Notary Public, of Ballymoney.
In a ceremony that she described as "significant", Miss Bingham was delighted to welcome dignitaries that included the HM Lord-Lieutenant, Mrs Joan Christie CVO OBE MBE, the Mayor of Lisburn and Castlereagh Borough Council, Councillor Tim Morrow, the Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Councillor Joan Baird, and the Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council, Councillor Paul Hamill , as well as three past High Sheriffs and two Deputy Lieutenants of the County.
