Ballymoney First XI fall to just second league defeat at Queens

BALLYMONEY First XI fell to just their second league defeat of the season at the weekend when they lost 3-1 to Queens First XI at the Joey Dunlop Centre.
The 'Toon' began the day at the top of the league but knew that a win for their opponents would see them leapfrog into pole position.
With such a lot to play for, both teams began the game in determined fashion with the home side just shading things in terms of possession and chances created.
However, they were rocked when the visitors opened the scoring just before half-time from a well worked penalty corner. Undeterred, Ballymoney began the second half in positive fashion, taking the game to their opponents but they struggled to get the opening they craved.
