Stricken horse rescued from river thumbnail

A HORSE has survived after it became stuck in a river along the Lisnasoo Road in Cloughmills  on Sunday, April 8.
Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) attended the scene where firefighters, a specialist rescue team and a local farmer managed to save the striken animal.
Big-hearted rescuers used a specialist animal rescue sling, a mechanical digger and animal rescue techniques.
NIFRS confirmed that the horse had survived its ordeal but could not disclose any details of the animal's current condition.
A spokesperson said: "Firefighters were called to attend an animal rescue incident involving a horse in a river.
“The incident was dealt by  9.05pm."
