Ulster Elks 1st XI....................1
Ballymoney 1st XI....................1
NIKKI Parke grabbed a second half equaliser against Ulster Elks at Jordanstown on Saturday in the first One 1918 Premier League game of 2012 for the defending champions.
Ballymoney 1st XI has saw little action in the weeks before Christmas, the weather forcing their games to be postponed.
It was the home side that started started off the stronger team with most of the possession in the first half which resulted in the game's opening goal after just 12 minutes from open play. Ballymoney did have numerous penalty corners to match the Elks, but were unable to convert and they still trailed 1-0 at the break.
Ballymoney came out fighting in the second half and on 16 minutes Nikki Parke found the back of the net after a slipped ball from the top of the circle. With the score on level terms, it was all to play for.
With 10 minutes left on the clock Ballymoney were awarded a penalty corner. A strike from the top of the circle was stopped on the line which resulted in a chance for 'Money to secure full points. Unfortunately Katie Mullen narrowly missed from the spot and with no further action at either end the game ended with a 1-1 draw.
