GAVIN Gilmore rescued a point for Ballymoney United on Saturday against PSNI in their first league game since New Year's Eve.
The home side took the lead after 66 minutes and it need a powerful Gilmore header to salvage something from the game for Paul Gaston's side in the dying minutes.
While 1-1 might have been a fair reflection of the game, at the same time, Ballymoney will certainly feel they could have taken all three points.
Gaston's men edged the opening 30 minutes with Ian Christie and Gerard Gillen prominent in attack.
For PSNI, Scott McCrory produced the first real test for Brian Moore in the Ballymoney goals when a drive from 25 yards was parried and saved.
A misplaced pass from PSNI right back Shane Brennan put Mark McKane clear only to see the striker drive wide when he looked certain to score.
In a much better second half the Police took the lead after 66 minutes when Adamczyk and Robbie Knox combined for Adamczyk to score with a ground shot past the advancing Moore.
Ballymoney responded swell with Keith Wilson making a series of excellent saves including a low drive from Mark Gillen after he was left unmarked on the right.
With time running out Daniel Laverty attacked down the left producing an excellent cross for Gavin Gilmore to power a great headed past Wilson from six yards.
The PSNI almost snatched the winner when Adamczyk volleyed a great shot at Moore who flung himself across goal to save.
