Comprehensive victory for the Toon thumbnailBallymoney on the defensive against Dromore on Saturday.

ON Saturday Ballymoney entertained Dromore at home in the league looking to get back to winning ways after somewhat of an indifferent start to the season.
Due to recent injuries David Linton and John Richmond were given a start and place on the bench respectively.
Dromore kicked off and with the ball not making the ten metres Ballymoney were given their first opportunity of an attacking scrum on half way.
Against a much heavier opposition the Ballymoney eight held firm allowing the back line the quality ball they had been looking for.
Ballymoney were playing with more confidence and unlucky not to go into an early lead when Clelland was unlucky with a penalty attempt.
It was Dromore who were first on the score sheet with a penalty. From the kick off Ballymoney went on the offensive, awarded a penalty and refusing to go for the posts their efforts paid dividends when Chris Watson beat his man to score in the corner.
The lead was short lived when Ballymoney were again penalised at the ruck. Ballymoney pressed and after applied pressure it was Watson who scored again.
The conversion missed giving Ballymoney a 10-6 lead at half time.
Ballymoney kicked off the second half and immediately applied pressure to the opposition, the Ballymoney team beginning to click and moving their much heavier opponents around the pitch they knew more points were forthcoming.
It was Watson who scored the hosts' third try and his hatrick to take the score to 17-6.
Ballymoney were now in the ascendency and playing with a lot more confidence. From a 5 metre scrum it was Davy Calvin next to score, converted by Clelland taking the score to 24-6.
From the kickoff the ball was moved wide with backs and forwards interlinking well allowing hooker Dave Watson to break through only to be held up short, scrum half Nelson deceived the opposition and strolled in for another converted try taking the score to 31-6.
The final score came just before the whistle when outhalf Kevin Williams strolled in taking the score to 36-6 at full time.
Club Captain Davy Calvin commented: "Saturday was about getting the five points and we did that.
“With the forced changes to the team we had a young side out. It gave the chance for other players to prove themselves and they did that.
“We played well as a team and fronted up well against a bigger side.
“It's definitely a step in the right direction and sets us up well for Enniskillen on Saturday at home."
