Lauren Wade helps college win conference title thumbnailLauren Wade has enjoyed a remarkable first year on a soccer scholarship in the States.

COLERAINE'S Lauren Wade is well on her way to realising one of her ambitions after a hat-trick at the weekend helped propel her college into this week's South Atlantic Conference tournament.
Lauren, a product of Coleraine Ladies, brought her goals tally to 18 with a treble in Carson-Newman's 8-0 win over Coker Cobras on Saturday.
It's the third time this season that Wade has scored three or more goals in a game and sees her tied for sixth most in a season in program history.
The win allowed the Eagles to clinch a share of the South Atlantic Conference and they now face seventh seeds Catawba in Tuesday's end of season clash.
Wade got Carson-Newman off to a fast start when she netted her 16th goal in the fourth minute and she scored her second in the 53rd minute with a shot from the top of the 18-yard line.
Less than two minutes later she completed her hat trick.
Speaking to Chronicle Sport, the Business Administration Masters student, admitted she was loving life in the States.
“Moving away from home, from your family and friends can seem daunting at first but since I have arrived in America I am personally loving my time here," she said.
“What I love most is that I am here to focus on my football so having class one day a week suits me perfectly.
