Henry wraps up Irish Forest title with home win thumbnailDesi Henry and Liam Moynihan celebrate clinching the Irish Forest title at Saturday’s Glens of Antrim Rally.

DESI Henry has paid tribute to the support and dedication of his immediate family saying it was pivotal to him winning the Glens of Antrim Rally and with it the 2016 Valvoline Irish Forest Rally Championship title. Having come close to being crowned Irish Forest champion two seasons ago only to lose out by a handful of points, Henry was determined not to let the same thing happen again. The PRH Construction-backed driver needed only a top ten finish to make sure of the title, but in fairy tale fashion, he came home first.
“It was a great rally - but it was also one of the longest rallies I can remember," said a delighted Henry. "I knew I couldn't afford to do anything stupid. I drove at 80 or 90 per cent all day and it worked out for us.
“I'm just so happy myself and my co-driver Liam Moynihan won the title and to get a victory on my home round is the icing on the cake. It's good for us but it's also good for everyone in the team.
“We're a small, private, family-run outfit and they've stuck by me through thick and thin. They are a great bunch of lads.
