Agivey Anglers hold annual dinner thumbnailDaniel McGarvey is presented with his awards from Kieran Tully, secretary, and Martha Johnston, guest, during the Agivey Anglers' Association prizegiving and dinner held at the Bushtown Hotel.

THE Agivey Anglers' Association held their annual dinner dance in the Bushtown Hotel recently with over 160 riparian owners, guests and anglers attending.
Association Chairman David McLaughlin welcomed everyone to the venue, with club secretary Kieran Tully compere for the evening. Guest of honour and the person presenting the trophies was Mrs Martha Johnston. After an excellent meal, everyone was then entertained by well-known musician, Francis Faulkner.
Prizewinners on the night were as follows: Caoimhan McWilliams (heaviest trout Wee Agivey); Samuel Wilson (heaviest trout Wee Agivey); Oisin O'Neill (heaviest trout Big Agivey); Barney O'Neill (heaviest trout Big Agivey) and Anthony O'Neill (heaviest trout Big Agivey). In the adult competitions Arden Pollock took first place with Rory O'Kane and Mervyn Campbell coming second and third respectively, while Rory O'Kane caught the heaviest trout.
Daniel McGarvey was the Juvenile competition winner thanks to his heaviest trout catch, beating Faye Campbell and Ellen Mullan into second and third place in the process. In the second competition Tammy Lee Lamont came first overall with Rhiona Mullan and Shannon Campbell joint second. Ellen Mullan came third overall while Rhiona Mullan snatched the 'heaviest trout' title.
