Ballymoney win on penalty strokes

BALLYMONEY 1st XI travelled to Queen's on Saturday to play in the second round of the Irish Senior Cup.
Both teams knew this was going to be a difficult game, as their previous meet in the Shield ended in a one-all draw.
The game started off with an intense speed and it took the Ballymoney girls some time to adjust.
Queen's attacked strongly down the middle of the pitch and put the Ballymoney defence under a great amount of pressure.
Then, against the run of play, a great counter attack from Suzannah Brown and Katherine Gawne set up a shot for Nikki Parke which hit the post.
Both teams went on to create more chances throughout the half with the visitor's thankful to their goalkeeper Jodie Shannon for keeping the game scoreless.
In the second half Ballymoney immediately went in search of a goal to try and break the deadlock. Great play from Katherine Minihan and Laura McCurdy in midfield allowed for Jess Moore to have a shot on goal and she was unlucky not to score.
