Antrimís unbeaten record continues thumbnail

THE benefits of a strong bench was never more in evidence than at the Athletic Grounds where Antrim were rescued from what could have been a humiliating defeat.
The introduction of Deaghlan Murphy some 15 minutes into the second half after the Orchard men had gone into the lead proved a master stroke and, following his 16th minute levelling point, they never looked back.
Indeed, the big Rossa player went on to hit five in an 11 minute spell of total dominance and added two more before the end, allowing his side to cruise to a seven point victory and retention of their unbeaten run in Division 2A.
It was far from a comfortable afternoon for Antrim. They were pushed all the way by the men in orange, the game level twice in the first half and twice the Orchard side led. By the interval, Antrim had clawed back some ground and lead by four, 1-8 to 0-7.
