Waide hoping to make Kingspan history thumbnail

BALLYMONEY rugby captain John Waide is tipping his team-mates to cause an upset against neighbours Ballymena in Saturday's McCambley Cup final at Kingspan Stadium.
While the Braid men go into the decider as favourites, Waide believes that his squad has nothing to fear - particularly as they are the tournament's defending champions.
Both teams have different reasons for wanting to triumph; Ballymena last lifted the trophy in 2011, while Ballymoney are chasing consecutive McCambley Cup final wins.
However, Waide admits the Fourths will have to be at their very best if they hope to successfully defend their title. "On our day we are a match for anybody," says Waide.
“But if we are to stand any chance of beating Ballymena then we have to start as we mean to go on. Last year we didn't fulfil our potential in the final, yet we still won it.
