Dunloy end lengthy wait in some style thumbnail

IT has been a long wait for Dunloy to get back to the top at under 21 hurling level but they certainly did it in style. Against neighbours and great rivals Loughgiel they reversed years of misery when they turned over the Shamrocks to the tune of 14 points.
Threatening for some time now to get back to the top at this level, Dunloy were well on top throughout and after changing ends at 0-16 to 0-5 there was no way back for Loughgiel.
The main difference in the sides was the fire power of the Dunloy attack where full forward Conor Doherty Cunning was the star of the show with a couple of goals and six points to his credit.
Add to that the contributions of Anton McGrath, Keelan Molloy, midfielders Caolan Elliott and Deaghlan Smith - along with replacements Colm Scullion and Liam McCann - and Loughgiel had no reply.
Take James McNaughton and Conor Dallas out of their front division and there was precious little left with just two others - Shane McGrath and Conor Christie - contributing a point each.
