Kelly makes it a Donegal double thumbnail

AND so the wait goes on for Donagh Kelly. At the end of a thrilling Donegal International Rally, the long-time leader was left to ponder what might've been as Manus Kelly made it back-to-back wins.
Manus Kelly joins an exclusive group to retain their crown, including Bertie Fisher, Andrew Nesbitt and Eugene Donnelly, and is the first person since Gareth MacHale in 2009/2010 to accomplish it.
After Friday's opening leg the odds appeared firmly stacked in Donagh Kelly's favour as his Ford set fastest times on the opening six stages to hold a 12.2 second lead. And despite a scare on the second run over 'Knockalla' that ended with his car spinning down the road, and heavy tyre wear issues, he ended Saturday with seven seconds in hand over Manus Kelly's hired Subaru Impreza WRC.
