AFTER three defeats in both League and Feis Cup on the trot, Cushendall picked themselves off the ground to hand out a dusting to unbeaten Dunloy when the sides met in Division One on Sunday afternoon.
This result saw Dunloy drop from top to third spot with the Ruairi Ogs moving in behind new leaders Loughgiel who strengthened their position with a one point victory away to Ballygalget.
As things now stand the Shamrocks are on nineteen points from twelve games while Cushendall are two back with a game in hand.
Despite their loss all is not yet over for Dunloy who are on sixteen with a game in hand over the 'Dall and two over Loughgiel.
While they were six points better at the end of this clash, the Ruairi Ogs have goalkeeper Eoin Gillan to thank for a three great saves - goals which certainly would have reversed the scoreline.
Playing against the breeze in the opening half Cushendall were first off the mark with Paddy McGill in action after four minutes and he followed with another a minute later only to see Nicky McKeague reply in kind in the sixth and eighth minutes.
