Coleraine lose out to neighbours Limavady thumbnail

A JORDAN Thompson penalty three minutes from time secured Limavady United a 1-0 win over north west rivals Coleraine in a low-key pre season friendly on Saturday.
Thompson was adjudged to have been pushed in the back by Bannsiders' left-back Aaron Traynor by referee Ian McNabb and got up to tuck away the resultant spot-kick.
It was a good end to the week for the Roesiders who were on the end of a thumping 4-0 defeat at Moyola Park on the Tuesday while there wasn't much for the travelling Coleraine supporters to get excited about in a rain-affected 90 minutes.
Oran Kearney travelled over the mountain minus several first team regulars, missing through a variety of injuries, including central defenders David Ogilby and Gareth McConachie, right-back Lyndon Kane, midfelder Ian Parkhill and striker James McLaughlin.
That meant a start in the centre of defence for Limavady native Adam Mullan and he produced a performance alongside the evergreen Steven Douglas that his father, Damian, a former Limavady Utd captain, would have been proud of.
