Champions Loughgiel retain their league crown thumbnail

THE Shamrocks came with a late run in this season's Division One Hurling League race but, when it came to the crunch, they were able to produce the goods against both Dunloy and Cushendall.
As they completed their programme with a visit to Rossa Park where they humiliated the Belfast outfit with an enormous forty eight point thumping, their still remains an element of doubt as to whether they have retained their league crown.
Cloughmills are the side which have set this doubt in motion, having apparently withdrawn from the competition and not fulfilling their last future against Cushendall, which, if truth be told, was merely a formality for the Ruairi Ogs.
Through no fault of their own Cushendall still remain two points behind the Shamrocks with that outstanding game but, if scoring difference were to be the deciding feature they would need to have chalked up an even greater victory than Loughgiel.
