BALLYMONEY United had new signing Jamie Coulter to thank for their winning start to the Northern Ireland Intermediate League as he scored a hat-trick on his debut for the club.
Currently on loan from Coleraine's Under 20 set-up, Coulter scored all of his goals in the first half against Newbuildings United to hand new manager Liam Kearney all three points.
It leaves a much-changed United side second in the league table behind Strabane Athletic, who found the net no fewer than six times in their clash against Oxford United Stars.
After the game Coulter and fellow eighteen-year-old Paddy Gault were singled out by Kearney, who was also impressed by the energy of both Ciaran Clarke and Eddie McCloskey.
“Jamie is a typical old school centre forward who has strength and ability and doesn't know when to give up," Kearney told Chronicle Sport. "Patrick had a great game as well in the centre of the park. He was composed in his movement and decision making and that allowed everyone around him to play. What I saw of them on Saturday was really pleasing.
