ULSTER Rally organisers have told Chronicle Sport they are confident the British Rally Championship counter will have a presence in north Antrim next year.
The Ulster is returning to Antrim in 2018, raising hopes that classic stages such as Torr Head and Glendun could feature as part of the competitive route.
Event Director Robert Harkness has now confirmed they will be included in the schedule in some shape or form. "We are still in the planning stage, there is still a lot to be decided, but that is something we will be coming to the table with," he said. "Everyone we've spoken to about it wants us to go back there.
“Being based in Antrim the rally will run north/south one day and east/west the other, but in what order we still have not decided. However, it would be my expectation that the return of such popular stages will mean a strong entry and entice those who have not done the rally for a while to come back."
