Turkey Run unchanged ahead of 2018 shake-up

THE LAYOUT of special stages on the end-of-season Turkey Run Rally at Shackleton will largely mirror those that featured on the Dog Leap Rally earlier in the year, a senior figure has told Chronicle Sport.
Competitors taking part in the clubman event later this month will tackle six Tarmac stages totalling twenty five miles - with Clerk of the Course Michael Irving saying changes will be minimal at most.
That means fast and open sections on each test around the former air base will be interspersed by a number of narrow, twisting perimeter roads that Irving promises will crank up the difficulty levels.
“After the Dog Leap Rally competitors came up to us and asked us not to change a thing - they were really impressed and found them a real challenge, so we have taken that on board and listened to them," he said.
