Magherafelt Sky Blues extend their advantage

Thursday, 18 January 2018

AT the halfway point in their N.I. Intermediate League campaign, Magherafelt Sky Blues have extended their advantage at the top of the table to five points.
The Spires Park side travelled to their nearest challengers, Strabane Athletic, and recorded an excellent odd goal in three win.
Sky Blues are now unbeaten in eight.
Indeed, the title fight is beginning to get very interesting.
Ardstraw won their fourth successive game when beating Oxford United Stars to move within a point of second spot. And, as anticipated, Maiden City have left their cup exploits behind them and got back to N.I. Intermediate League action with success at Ballymoney United.
With three wins from only three games played, Maiden City may be 13 points off the pace but they do have five games less played!
The Dungiven Celtic versus Newbuildings United fixture was postponed.
