McErlean returns to JBRC

Thursday, 8 February 2018

KILREA'S Josh McErlean will return to the Junior British Rally Championship on next month's Border Counties Rally over in Scotland after striking a deal with MH Motorsport team principal, Mike Harris.
As part of the agreement McErlean will contest all six rounds of this year's competition with Aaron Johnston at the wheel of a Ford Fiesta R2T, including the end-of-season Wales Rally GB in October.
The exciting tie-up follows weeks of negotiations between McErlean and Harris, with local sponsor Dixon Contractors Limited also playing their part with increased backing for the talented teenager.
“This has been in the pipeline now for a while now," McErlean told Chronicle Sport. "A lot of time and effort has been put in to this and the result is quite rewarding. The British Rally Championship is the pinnacle of motorsport in the UK so to get the chance to compete in a top team, in a first class car, in such a high-profile Championship is brilliant news for everyone who made it possible.
