COLERAINE captain Stephen O'Donnell believes the 'raw' pain felt by the players on Saturday will help drive them on to Tennent's Irish Cup glory this weekend.
The Bannsiders came up just short in their bid to win the Danske Bank Premiership as they were pipped to the title by Crusaders who finished two points ahead of the Bannsiders.
Oran Kearney's side needed to better that of their north Belfast rivals but in the end failed to do so: they drew 0-0 with Glenavon at Mourneview Park while the Crues defeated Ballymena Utd 2-1 away from home.
Nevertheless, it has been a memorable league campaign for the Showgrounds club who finished second in the league and qualify for the qualifying round of the Europa League.
And they have a second chance at winning silverware when they take on Cliftonville in Saturday's Irish Cup final at the National Stadium.
